The 16th BRICS Academic Forum took place on 22-24 May 2024 in Moscow. Held under the slogan “BRICS: New Figures at the Global Chessboard”, the Academic Forum academics, researchers, diplomats government officials. The expansion of the grouping is a new chapter in the history of multilateralism. During more than 10 years of its existence, BRICS has evolved into a group that offers example of genuine multilateralism, new ways of collaboration, and provides a vision of a just multipolar international order. Owing to this, over 20 countries worldwide have expressed interest in joining the group. The expansion of BRICS will elevate the voices of the developing world or Global South or non-Western world in general, in global governance and other international issues of common concern and interest.
